Who we are
The Corporate Business Alliance continues ten years of work as a global certification body. It is a company registered in the United Kingdom, and it certifies practitioners wherever they work.
A professional credential exists to answer one question for somebody who was not in the room: can this person do this work. CBA exists to make that answer dependable — by publishing what competence in a discipline consists of, assessing it consistently, and recording the result where anyone can check it.
Standards apart from teaching
CBA sets standards and assesses against them. Candidates may prepare on their own, with CBA’s study material, or with an employer, and are assessed identically however they prepared. Training providers may apply to teach to the standards as Approved Learning Partners.
What CBA does
Four responsibilities
Maintains the standards
Published standards of professional practice for each discipline, a Competency Framework defining three levels, and a Code of Professional Conduct.
The CBA StandardsAdmits members
One grade of membership, open to anyone working in or entering the four fields, and renewed each year. Membership is not a qualification: a credential is earned by assessment.
MembershipCertifies practitioners
Examines candidates against the standards and awards credentials at the level the evidence supports, renewed every three years against continuing professional development.
The certificationsKeeps the public register
Every credential CBA awards has a permanent public record, answered from its credential ID, showing the holder, the discipline, the level and its current status.
The registerGovernance
How CBA is governed
The governance page records who is accountable for the standards and for assessment decisions, and how commercial interest is kept apart from results. Every policy CBA works to is published.
CBA credentials are the body’s own professional certifications. They are not regulated qualifications, CBA is not accredited to ISO/IEC 17024, and it claims no affiliation with or equivalence to any other body.
